Before we get to the fun stuff

Let's talk about music for your video.

We know you already have a Spotify playlist full of songs you love. Here's why we can't just use those tracks in your wedding film, and what we can do instead.

We use licensed music to keep your film sentimental and personal to you as a couple. It also future-proofs it from music trends that may feel dated over time — your film should feel timeless in 20 years, not tied to a chart hit from the week you got married.

01

Songs are intellectual property

Artists and labels own their music. Using it commercially, even in a personal video shared online, requires a sync licence.

02

Your video will be taken down

Platforms like YouTube, Instagram and Vimeo automatically detect unlicensed audio and will mute or remove your video.

03

Sync licences are expensive

Licensing a single popular song for video use typically costs $5,000–$25,000+. It's not a simple fee we can add on.

04

Licensed music sounds great

We use curated libraries with thousands of professional tracks across every genre and mood. You will find something you love.

Understanding your options

Commercial music vs licensed music.

The difference is simple. Commercial music is made to be sold and streamed. Licensed music is made specifically for use in video, with the rights already cleared.

Cannot use
  • Spotify / Apple Music tracks

Can use
  • Artlist licensed tracks
  • Musicbed selections

Posted to your personal account via Instagram original audio

Because you'll be posting this directly to your own Instagram as a reel using original audio, Instagram's licensing covers you. That means you can use any song available in the Instagram audio library, including current chart music.

Search for it in the Instagram audio library first to make sure it's available in your region.
